RAIA: A free football summer camp will be organised for the children and youth of the Benaulim constituency from May 1 to 22, at Varca Sports Club ground, Varca, from 7.30 am to 9 am.
The camp is an initiative of Warren Alemao, youth leader and social worker, with an aim to nurture sports talents in children and youth. It will be conducted in collaboration with the South Goa United, under the leadership of Luis Barreto and will have professional coaches to impart training namely - Francis Fernandes, Jeromina Colaco, Valanka D’Souza, Yadnya Pawar, Allain D’Costa, Stacy Barreto (physio), Beevan D’Mello, Ancella Barreto, Alicia Fernandes and Malvita Mascarenhas - all possessing recognised coaching licences and ensuring top-quality instruction for participants.
The camp will cater to two age groups: 6-11 years and 12-17 years boys and girls. Residents of Colva, Seraulim, Benaulim, Varca, Orlim, Carmona, and Cavelossim are encouraged to participate.
