Tanisha wins gold, silver in Infosys India Int’l challenge badminton

PANJIM: Goa and India’s star badminton player, Tanisha Crasto who was in line for a double crown emerged with one gold and one silver medal, at the Infosys Foundation India International Challenge Badminton tournament in Bengaluru on Sunday.

 Tanisha along with her partner Ishaan Bhatnagar from Chhattisgarh, who are the reigning Junior National champions, emerged victorious in the Mixed doubles event, registering a thrilling 21-16, 21-19 win over Sai Pratheek K and Gayatri Gopichand Pullela, in the six-day International tournament organized by the Prakash Padukone Badminton Academy under the aegis of Badminton Association of India, at the Padukone-Dravid Center for Sports Excellence, Bengaluru.

In Women's doubles, Tanisha along with her partner Rutuparna Panda went down to Treesa Jolly / Gayatri Gopichand 21-23, 14-21 to settle for Silver.

Mixed Doubles: Ishaan Bhatnagar / Tanisha Crasto bt Sai Pratheek K / Gayatri Gopichand 21-16, 21-19               

Women’s Singles: Anupama Upadhyaya bt Unnati Hooda 21-19, 21-16

 Men’s Doubles: Krishna Prasad Garaga / Vishnu Vardhan Goud bt Arun George / Sanyam Shukla 24-22, 13-21,  22-20

Women’s Doubles: Treesa Jolly / Gayatri Gopichand bt Tanisha Crasto / Rutuparna Panda 23-21, 21-14

Men’s Singles: Priyanshu Rajawat bt  Raghu Mariswamy 12-21, 21-10, 21-8
