BENAULIM: United Boys of Dando and St Rock Youth Club Calata played out a drab draw in the Goa Football Association’s (GFA) Third Division League Salcete Zone played at Dando ground, Benaulim, on Tuesday.

St Rock’s YC were a better side initially with Flesbon Ferrao, Aakash Shetty and Imran Bani constantly raiding the rival defence. United Boys of Dando were lucky enough as St Rock’s YC missed a couple of chances, one of which was flagged offside. St Rock YC had the first shy at the goal as Flesbon passed the ball to Aakash but the latter shot inches away from the goal.

Flesbon had yet another chance to score from a close range free-kick but the strike was saved by the UB Dando goalkeeper

However, midway through the United Boys of Dando gained control of the match and started attacking the rivals through the flanks.

Jerson Fernandes in the midfield while Clive Goes and Veloid Dias in the flanks for United Boys of Dando troubled St Rock’s defence.

United Boys of Colva almost shot into the lead as Jerson Fernandes ran through the left flank and sent in a brilliant ball to Clive who shot towards the goal but the ball deflected off the defender and went to Veloid Dias who shot inside the goal however the referee flagged offside before the team could celebrate.

Both the sides couldn’t find the winner as the scoreboard read 0-0 at full time.
