MAPUSA: Vagator Parish Youth Sports Club registered a comfortable 4-0 win over Bidesh XI Sports Club in the fourth-round match of the GFA's 2nd Division League, played at Duler Stadium, Mapusa, here on Monday.

Vagator scored two goals in each half through Raj Jadhav, Pratik Dhargalkar, Nehal Parsekar and Nitesh Hoble.

It was Bidesh who started brightly and had a decent chance of opening the scoring early in the match but Vinayak Rane`s well struck shot from inside the penalty box was well kept out for a corner by the diving Vagator keeper Sanket Gaonkar.

Vagator too had opportunities but Stephen Martin and Raj Jadhav’s shots were well stopped by keeper Ritesh Narvekar.

Vagator finally managed to get the breakthrough in the 23rd minute when Raj Jadhav getting hold off a pass from Stephen cleverly outfoxed Bidesh defender Vijet Salgaonkar and beat the advancing keeper Ritesh with a low grounder, 1-0.

Raj Jadhav was instrumental in Vagator`s second goal which came in the 35th minute when his intelligent defence splitting pass found Pratik Dhargalkar who unleashed a cracking shot that nestled into the net, 2-0.

Bidesh almost pulled a goal back in the 38th minute but Vagator keeper Sanket brought a smart stop to deny Domnic Miranda's firm shot from entering the net.

Raj Jadhav nearly got his second goal for Vagator in the injury time but his clever lob over the advancing keeper Ritesh just missed the target by a whisker.

Changing end Bidesh tried their best to get back into the match but were unlucky. First Sahil Parwar's well taken free-kick hit the woodwork and then later Vagator keeper Sanket left his charge in the nick of time to dispose Gaurish Bugde in one to one position.

Just went Bidesh looked threatening, Vagator scored two goals through Nehal Parsekar who applied finishing touches to a cross delivered by skipper Pratik in the 70th minute, while defender Nitesh Hoble made it 4-0 by guiding the ball into the net from a free-kick.
