Vagator PYSC get the better of Sinquerim SC

MAPUSA: Vagator PYSC scored a massive 8-0 win over Sinquerim SC in the ninth and final round league match of the GFA's 2nd Division league played at Duler stadium here on Wednesday.

With Wedesday's win, Vagator have 16 points while Sinquerim SCC stand relegated to the third division with just 4 points.

With Sinquerim taking the field with merely eight players, Vagator were in a comfortable zone throughout their duel.

Sinquerim keeper Crizol Alvares managed to hold the Vagator onslaughts for quite sometimes but ultimately succumbed to the pressure in 25th minute when Pratik Dhargalkar danced his way past the defenders before placing the ball into the net to give his side the lead.

At the half hour mark, Vagator got in their second goal when Anand Kerkar scored off Pratik’s pass to make it 2-0.

Bhavesh Shirvoikar got in the third goal for Vagator to give them a 3-0 lead at the breather.

Changing over, Vagator continued with their onslaught and made it 4-0 in the 55th minute through Akash Pawar.

Vagator went on to fire in four more goals with Pratik Dhargalkar, Stephen Martin, Anand Kerkar and Akash Pawar doing the scoring at regular intervals to make it 8-0.

Sinquerim were further reduced to six players as Mayur Navelkar and Donald Rocha had to leave the field due to injury forcing referee Sainath Haldankar to call off the match.
