CHINCHINIM: Vasco Veterans edged past Navelim Veterans 3-2 via the tie-breaker to move into the quarter-finals of the 1st all Goa Veterans football tournament, organised by Sucaldem Youth Club, at SYC ground, Chinchinim, on Wednesday.
In the first half, Denis Cabral missed chances for Navelim while Ananth Adkonkar came up with some brilliant saves for Vasco.
In the tie-breaker, Cajie and Claudio scored for Navelim while Nelson, Nikki and Ananth found the net for Vasco. They will now play the winners of Sucaldem Veterans and Quepem Veterans.
