YB Tonca beat Sateri SC

TALEIGAO: A late resurgence from Young Boys of Tonca helped them come from behind to beat Sateri Sports Club in the Goa Football Association Second Division League match played at Taleigao ground, on Thursday.

The match was filled with plenty of drama – witnessing early breakthroughs, yellow cards, late dramatic match-winners and a red card too. Despite being on equal fronts in the initial stages of the game, Sachin Shirodkar put Sateri Sports Club ahead in the game at the half hour mark. In the first session, Vilas Bandodkar and Latish Kunkolkar of Sateri SC were booked for rough play.

Crossing over, it was more of a midfield duel with both sides cancelling each sides play. 

The tempo increased in the final 10 minutes of the game when Young Boys attacked in numbers and they were finally rewarded with the equalising goal through Valerian Rodrigues in the 81st minute. 

With the scores level, it was game on and Young Boys made the best of the momentum in their favour as they soon scored their second through Pravin Bandodkar in the 85th minute. Sateri SC were reduce d to 10 men late in the game when Latish Kunkolkar received his second yellow card for reckless play.
