YWSC Assolna win five-goal thriller against Colmorod Ratwado

PANJIM: Youth Welfare Sports Club Assolna defeated Colmorod Ratwado Sports Club 3-2 in the Goa Football Association's U-14 League match played on Assolna grounds, on Sunday.

Youth Welfare SC started the scoring in the game with Jolan Simoes's brilliant strike at the goal and soon doubled the lead in the 42nd minute through Amresh Pawar in the 42nd minute.

The Navelim side, however, bounced back and scored two goals through Varik D'Costa and Fredlon Gomes in the 45th and 60th minutes respectively to make it all square.

In another match at Quepem sports Complex, Canancona Sports Academy thumped Tilamola United Sports Club, 5-0.

Rohit Naik netted a brace (30', 22', 61') while Dickson also netted in the 30th minute for Canacona SA.

Sporting Clube de Goa defeated Goa Velha Sports Club 2-0, at Don Bosco ground, Panjim.

Yuvraj Naik (44') and Francisco Fernandes (67') scored a goal each for the young Flaming Oranje.

Elsewhere, at Ponda Footballers thrashed PYA Divar 6-1.

Abdul Shaikh opened the scoring for the Ponda side in the 3rd minute while Tavarak Ali doubled the lead in the 6trh minute to give his side a 2-0 cushion.

In the 15th minute, Rohan Gaonkar made it 3-0 in the 15th minute before Abdul netted again to complete his brace in the 23rd minute .

Laxmikant Vagermeka and Sahil Gaonkar scored a goal each in the 26th and 35rth minute respectively;y to take the tally to 6-0 before the end of the first half.

Post resumption, Nihar Parsekar scored a consolation goal for the Divar side in the 69th minute to as the scores read 6-1 at full-time.

Meanwhile, in the U-16 league match, Pax of Nagoa scored an easy 3-0 win over Ave Maria Athletic & Welfare CLub, On Nagoa ground.

James D'Sa scored all the three goals in the second half (63', 69', 73').
