PANJIM: World Shotokan Karate Do Association, Calangute Dojo won a record 50 medals which included 26 gold, eight silver and 16 bronze to emerged North Goa district karate champions organized by all-Goa Karate Do Association at indoor Stadium, Peddem, Mapusa. They will meet the South District winners in the state finals.

The team has been trained under the guidance of sensei Anthony Menezes, national referee of all-India Karate Do Federation and president of all-Goa Karate Do Association.

Boys gold medalists: Siddhant Sakalkar (U-8 kumite); Ryan Menezes (U-12 kata and kumite); Rakesh Shingarajula (U-14 kumite); Alam Ansari (U-17 kata and kumite); Kim Braganza (U-18 kata and kumite).

Men gold medalists: Eustaquio Fernandes (kumite); Croidin D’Cunha (kumite); Mahesh Shirodkar (kumite).

Girls gold medalists: Divyanka Vernekar (U- 10 kata); Vaishnavi Palkar (U-11kata and kumite); Natasha Gonsalves (U-13 kata and kumite); Rosita Lobo (U-14 kumite); Padmavati Pradhan (U-14 kumite); Abieta Menezes (U-14 kata and kumite); Simran Batham (U-16 kata and kumite); Shirisha Shingarajula (U-17 kata and kumite); Ely Monteiro (above 21 kata and Kumite).
