MARGAO: Mount Mary's Higher Secondary School, Chinchinim prevailed over Bethany Convent High School, Sao Jose de Areal 4-2 via the tie-breaker to enter the second round of Salcete Taluka under-17 Subroto Mukherjee inter-school football tournament at Carmel college ground, Nuvem, Wednesday. There was no score at full time.

In the penalty shoot out, Joston Fernandes, Cliffton Almeida, Jess Fernandes and Nash Pereira were on target for Mount’s Mary’s while Steven Fernandes and Wilton Hilario converted for Bethany Convent.
In another match, Our lady of Succour High School, Nagoa beat St Xavier’s High School, Velim 5-2 via the tie-breaker after both teams were tied 1-1 at the end of the regulation period.
Leo Fernandes put St Xavier’s into the lead soon after the kick-off. However, their joy was shortlived when Bennister Baretto scored the equalizer.
In the penalty shoot out, Gilman Carvalho, Benister Baretto, Myson Faria and Stephen Lobo found the mark for Our Lady of Succour while only Tryson Fernandes was successful for St Xavier’s.
