‘Infected’ Sesa FA show up for GPL match

PANJIM: The ongoing football season across the globe has seen a lot of clubs suffer from COVID outbreaks within their training ground and facilities leading to fixtures being postponed.

According to various guidelines laid down by football associations, clubs have to strictly maintain SOPs and bubble safety measures within their teams to avoid contracting the virus.

The GFA Goa Professional League has also seen a lot of matches being postponed due to such circumstances. However, to everyone’s surprise Sesa Football Academy showed up with 29 players for Monday’s fixture against Youth Club of Manora with 8 players sitting in the stands.  Barely a week ago, Sesa FA had reported to GFA headquarters that 7 players had been tested Covid positive RT-PCR-test results thereby resulting in the GFA postponing the match of April 9 to be played between Salgaocar FA and Sesa FA.

As per guidelines, a person who has tested positive for the virus has to mandatory follow a quarantine period of 14 days.
