MARGAO: Former Minister Arecio D’Souza on Monday said that the setting up of a NIT institute in Cuncolim will not only add value, but make Cuncolim the hub for international education destination.
Welcoming the NIT project, D’Souza said, “We cannot be absolutely parochial in demanding reservations beyond what is provided in the Constitution. In fact, if the institute does come in the village, it would be an opportunity for the villagers to display their intellect, get admissions on merit and prove their worth as people of Cuncolim have done over the ages.”
He said Cuncolim was one village which has produced some of the brightest persons in every field, be it medical legal or administrative in the State of Goa. “It is the only village with residents having reached the judicial eminence,” he added.
