Govt lifts moratorium on recruitment State #government

has finally lifted ban on #recruitment

processes in government Department/Grant-in-aid institutions/Autonomous Bodies/Corporations/PSU’s. Ahead of the February 2017 #Assembly

, the then Laxmikant Parsekar government had imposed #ban

on all recruitment in the government sector for smoother implementation of the Seventh Pay Commission recommendation to the employees, as the additional financial liability to the State was to the tune of Rs 47 crore a month. The ban was to be reviewed in six months.

IMD predicts heavy #rainfall

in Goa till Friday Heavy rain lashed most parts of Goa on Wednesday. IMD Goa, has issued a warning of likely extremely heavy rainfall – more than 204.4 mm in 24 hours. The #IMD

has also predicted heavy rainfall in the state until Friday in both #North

and South Goa. Parts of Panaji saw traffic diversions and water-logging Wednesday. The cumulative rainfall received 119.5 mm in Old Goa, 101 mm in #Panaji

and 101 mm in Pernem.

Recently, a gang of five persons brutally assaulted a 53-year-old #businessman

of Verla, Roy Fernandes and two of his associates in #Bardez

allegedly for exposing a #hill

-cutting incident. Verla-based businessman Roy Fernandes was hit on his head while his employee Agni Ahmed suffered serious #injuries

to his nose and one of his eyes. Both are admitted to a private #hospital

in #Mapusa
