He blamed the bilateral trade agreements which were currently in place between the two countries for the restrictions. He hoped this situation would be corrected at the earliest and expressed the hope that in an ideal situation over 100 flights would come to India every week. The Indian subcontinent accounts for 26% of the business generated by the airline at present.
Speaking to the media yesterday he said the airline which had transported 6 million passengers a year was looking to expand its operations as well as fleet in the near future. By 2020 the airline is expected to have a 80 strong fleet comprising wide bodied aircraft to manage the expected rise in bookings.  The airline he said was expected to make a profit in 2017 and would continue to be a valuable part of the Omani economy.
Goa is Oman Air’s eleventh destination in India, and the new service has been met with strong demand for bookings. Oman Air will also be adding many more new destinations to its network, as well as increasing frequencies on many established routes.
