Inspiring ideas at ‘Inspirus 2k17-Make it happen’

‘Inspirus 2k17-Make it happen’, a national level intercollegiate technical and non-technical event, was hosted for the very first time by the Department of Computer Engineering, in association with C-CODES of Don Bosco College of Engineering, Fatorda.

The event was inaugurated, and Inspirus was declared open by Minister for IT, Revenue and Labour and Employment Rohan Khaunte. He had spoken about how technology is advancing at a very fast pace and that it is our choice whether to stay back or move along with advancing technology. The inaugural ceremony also included the installation of the new C-CODES student Council for 2017-18. The vote of thanks was proposed by Prof Merwyn D’Souza. A souvenir for Inspirus 2K17 was launched on the occasion.

The various events held included Rubik’s Cube, Mindspark, Virtual Building, Virtual DJ, Framed and Designers’ Paradise, Hackathon, Geek’s Den, Edit Out and Clash Royale. There was a workshop on 3D technology taken by Ryan Vaz, owner of Infinyt 3D, Verna. Gaming events held were Counter Strike 1.6 and FIFA ’17. The Chief Guest for the valedictory function was Suhas Mallya, Executive Director at EMCO Goa Pvt Ltd. He had spoken about being true to your fundamentals and to ‘follow the money’. In the college section, Goa College of Engineering bagged the first place as winners of Inspirus 2k17. Padre Conceição College of Engineering won the second place. In the higher secondary category, Rosary Higher Secondary bagged the first place. A total of around 680 students from around 22 colleges and higher secondary schools all over Goa participated in the event. The coordinators for the event were Prof Merwyn D’Souza and Prof Amey Tilve.
