MAY QUEEN 2018 ROCKS MUSCAT!

 Amongst the many events organized by the Indian Social Club (ISC)- Goan Wing, the 7th Edition of May Queen Ball 2018, is yet another feather in the cap for Goan Wing. Celebrating the Goan culture, traditional hospitality & cultural heritage, the ISC-Goan wing organized their Annual Mega May Queen Ball recently, at the Luxurious Sheraton Hotel, Muscat, which was attended by a crowd of over 600 people from different communities.

This year, the May Queen Ball 2018, has reached greater heights with the presence of H.E. Indra Mani Pandey, Ambassador of India to the Sultanate of Oman. The ISC- Goan Wing, also had a special attraction for this Ball, the famous National Award Winning Actress, Ms. Palomi Gosh. The event also had a live band- Tidal Wave and Mr. Royce Coutinho was the host of the evening.

Thirteen young, dynamic and stunning ladies, took part in the pageant to be crowned ‘May Queen 2018’. As this event, attracts people from various communities and nationalities, the contestants who participated for the contest were from countries, including Iran, Romania and Pakistan.

As the contestants progressed through the final round, the judges made their decision. The elegant Ms. Sreya Vinod, wrapped up as ‘Second Runner-up May Queen 2018’; Ms. Sneha Solanki, was ‘First Runner-up May Queen 2018’ and finally the gorgeous, Ms. Raveena Kaur, was crowned ‘May Queen 2018’.

The Judges panel was led by Mr Rajesh Raman Managing Director Dentsu M21 who is also responsible for the marketing of Oman’s newest radio channels, FM and Shabiba FM. Mr Bino George, District Sales Manager – Oman Air and Ms Vinodhini Krishnamoorthy, one of the top Finalists for Mrs. India Worldwide.

Apart from the three main winners, we had four contestants who were awarded in the other categories, Ms. Aurica D’souza for ‘Miss Best Smile’; Ms. Melika Naderi for ‘Miss Photogenic’; Ms. Raveena Kaur for ‘Miss Best Dressed’ and Ms. Aarshi Kottari for ‘Miss Best Hair’.

In addition to the above, Ms. Palomi Ghosh was felicitated and honored, by H.E. Shri Indra Mani Pandey, Ambassador of India to the Sultanate of Oman. A token of appreciation was also presented to the Presenters of May Queen 2018- M/s Puravankara and M/s National Plastic Factory.

Ms. Palomi Ghosh, enthralled the audience and had the crowd on their feet with her melodious voice, dancing to the golden beats of Lorna and songs from her movie.

Tidal Wave rocked the floor with their spectacular performances. They ensured that the crowd received truly scintillating dance numbers.

A part of the proceeds from the event was presented in the form of a cheque to Children’s First Association by the Chief Guest H.E Indramani Pandey along with the representative of Eshraqa foundation Mrs Khalsa Al Zadjali. The Goan Wing making their contribution ensured car seats would now become available to the lesser fortunate children, facilitating a safer and better upbringing.

Mr. Anthony Lourenco, Convenor of ISC Goan wing, delivered his speech and welcomed the chief guest H.E. Shri Indra Mani Pandey, special Guest Ms. Palomi Ghosh, Mr. Liayat of Puravankara; Mr. Antonio Goes (Director- Operations, Al Hosni Group International and Founder Convenor and Advisor to the Goan Wing), Dr. Satish Nambiar (Chairman Indian Social Club) and the audience present at the Event. He said: “By organizing this event, we bring different communities together and blend the cultures and skills that enhance us to a stronger community. The May Queen Ball has grown bigger and better with all the acknowledgment, support and love received from the people and the Goan wing is committed towards its social responsibilities and will keep supporting the non-profitable organizations organization dedicated to enhancing the availability of comprehensive services to the needy.” He further thanked all the sponsors and committee members who had helped make the May Queen a grand success.

H.E Shri Indra Mani Pandey, Chief Guest expressed his sincere appreciation to the Goan Wing and congratulated them for organizing this event.

Mr. Herman Estibeiro, Co- Convenor of ISC Goan wing, extended the vote of thanks on behalf of the Goan wing committee.
