16 Pakistani YouTube channels banned in India after Pahalgam terror attack

The Government of India has taken a major step against Pakistan after the brutal Pahalgam attack, which killed many innocent tourists and injured dozens of people on April 22, 2025. The ban was enacted on the recommendation of the Ministry of Home Affairs, as the Indian government accused these channels of spreading provocative, communally sensitive, and misleading content targeting India, its military, and security agencies in the aftermath of the attack.

The banned channels were accused of disseminating "false narratives," "provocative, communally sensitive content," and "misinformation" about India and its security forces. The Indian government stated that this content was aimed at inciting communal tensions and undermining national security.

The action is part of a broader crackdown on online content deemed to glorify terrorism or justify the attack, with authorities warning that any similar content in the future will also be subject to bans.
