Jason Miller Meets Donald Trump Amid US-India Tariff Talks

Herald Team

Political strategist and lobbyist Jason Miller, whose firm SHW Partners LLC was hired by India earlier this year, met US President Donald Trump and members of his administration amid escalating trade tensions. Miller’s firm was reportedly engaged by the Indian embassy in April for USD 1.8 million for a one-year contract.

Although the agenda of the discussions was not disclosed, Miller shared photos on social media with Trump, calling it a “fantastic week in Washington” and praising the “President in-action.”

The meeting comes as US-India relations are strained following Trump’s decision to double tariffs on Indian goods and impose extra duties on India’s purchase of Russian crude oil. Despite the tensions, Trump described India-US ties as “special” and emphasized his personal friendship with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Modi reciprocated, highlighting a forward-looking Comprehensive Global Strategic Partnership between the two nations.
