A 19-year-old man was strangled to death by his girlfriend’s brother and four accomplices, who later abandoned his body in a forest near Bijha village under Bargi police station limits in Madhya Pradesh, the Times of India reported.
The decomposed body, discovered on August 20, was initially difficult to identify. However, a rakhi and a metal kada on the victim’s wrist confirmed him as Satyendra Uikey, son of Teerath Uikey from Kuntha Budhwara in Seoni district. Satyendra had been missing since August 15.
Police said postmortem findings pointed to strangulation. Investigations revealed that Satyendra was in a relationship opposed by the girl’s brother, who allegedly plotted the killing with friends. One suspect has been arrested, while others remain absconding.
In a separate case from Madhya Pradesh’s Anuppur district, 60-year-old Bhaiyalal Rajak was murdered by his third wife, Vimla, and her lover, Narayan Das Kushwaha, with the help of a labourer. His body, wrapped in a sack, was discovered floating in a well on August 30. Police said the trio killed him while he slept before disposing of the body.
