Female students of Sri Sharada Institute of Indian Management, Delhi, have accused self-styled godman Swami Chaitanyananda Saraswati of sexual harassment. According to the FIR, students were allegedly forced to visit his quarters late at night, with one student compelled to change her name.
The complaint followed a virtual interaction with over 30 female students, during which multiple students reported harassment and intimidation. Officials said students were threatened with suspension or withholding of degrees if they resisted the godman’s advances.
Investigators also discovered a Volvo car with a forged diplomatic number plate in the institute’s basement. Police have registered multiple cases and issued a lookout circular to prevent Saraswati from fleeing. The Sri Sharada Peetham in Sringeri has distanced itself from him.
