MARGAO: Senior Advocate Mike Mehta and his wife were assaulted by a Madel Fatorda local on Wednesday.
According to a criminal case registered at the Fatorda police station, the accused Gaspar Fernandes, a resident of Mahanagar Housing Complex, Madel, threatened Elsie Rodrigues, the wife of Mike Mehta, while she was entering her flat in the complex. The accused further criminally trespassed into the flat of the Mehtas and assaulted her. The accused also assaulted her husband Adv Mike Mehta, thereby causing him injuries.
An offence has been registered against the accused following a complaint by Elsie Rodrigues.
