Cabinet approves 3 posts of Chief Town Planners in TCP

PORVORIM: The State cabinet on Wednesday approved the creation of three posts of Chief Town Planners in the Town and Country Planning Department by amending the Goa Town & Country Planning Act, 1976 and Goa Town & Country Planning Rules.

PORVORIM: The State cabinet on Wednesday approved the creation of three posts of Chief Town Planners in the Town and Country Planning Department by amending the Goa Town & Country Planning Act, 1976 and Goa Town & Country Planning Rules.
The cabinet note, copy of which is in possession of Herald, says, “Goa is fast developing state and it will further accelerate while Mopa Airport will be operational.”
“To cope with, a corresponding planning is required to be carried out by the Town & Country Planning Department. Department has also not much succeeded in pushing further the issue about the bringing finality to the Regional Plan issue, thereby inviting criticism from various sections of the society. Further, TDR policy has to be implemented for which department has to gear up by establishing a separate set up for successful implementation,” it adds.
As per proposal the department will have three chief town planners – CTP (Administration), CTP (Land Use) and CTP (Planning).
The Cabinet also approved the proposal to transfer land at Bainguinim, Old Goa, to the Solid Waste Management Corporation (SWMC) to set up a garbage treatment plant.
