PANJIM: As a part of its restructuring process, the Goa Pradesh Congress Committee (GPCC) has appointed Block Presidents for 21 Assembly constituencies with immediate effect.
The Block Committees Presidents are as follows: Mandrem - Narayan Redkar, Bicholim- Manoj Naik, Mapusa- Shashank Narvekar, Siolim- Parvati Nagvekar, Saligao- Atul Naik, Aldona- Ashwin De Souza, Taleigao- Dnyaneshwar Govekar, St Andre- Manoj Palkar, Sanquelim- Mangaldas Naik, Priol- Harshad Bhonsle, Ponda- William Aguiar, Marcaim- Dnyaneshwar P Borkar, Dabolim- Vasant Naik, Cortalim- Peter D'Souza, Curtorim- Milagres Fernandes, Fatorda- Anwar Sayyed, Cuncolim- Assiz Noronha, Velim- Francisco Rodrigues, Quepem- Avadoot Amonkar, Curchorem- Parag Sabnis and Sanvordem- Jayesh Patil.
Goa Pradesh Congress Committee (GPCC) president Amit Patkar said that the block Congress committees will be constituted after consulting the party workers of the respective constituencies.
The party had dissolved all Block Congress Committees in September this year after eight rebel MLAs quit and joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
