PANJIM: The Goa Forward Party (GFP) has threatened to gherao the Chief Engineer of the Electricity Department if the hiked tariff is not rolled back.

Goemkars are already suffering financially due to @#CoronaPandemic. @Goaforwardparty will gherao Chief Engineer in coming week if roll back is not done!” GFP Vice President Durgadas Kamat tweeted.
The State government on Friday notified new Fuel and Power Purchase Cost Adjustment (FPPCA) charges on power bills, which will be reflected in December month’s power bills of consumers.
For above 200 units, FPPCA charges levied on domestic consumers will be 32.50 paisa/unit and for commercial consumers it will be 52.20 paisa/unit. The FPPCA for second quarter of financial year 2020-21 (July 2020 to September 2020) is to be levied for the energy consumption of October 2020 to December 2020.
FPPCA charges tariff slabs for LTD/domestic and non-commercial consumers is 0-100 units 16.40 paisa/unit, 101 to 200 units 24.10 paisa/unit, 201 to 300 units 32.50 paisa/unit, 301 to 400 units 39.60 paisa/unit and above 400 units 43.80 paisa/unit whereas FPPCA charges tariff slabs for LTC/commercial consumers are also revised.
