Rushed to Calangute hospital, declared ‘brought dead’

PANJIM/CALANGUTE: Isha Mantry, a 27-year-old film costume designer, attending the Supersonic Electronic Dance Music (EDM) festival was declared ‘brought dead’ at the Mathew Braganza Hospital & Research Centre in Calangute on Monday night.
Doctors at the hospital said they could not find her pulse or blood pressure when she was brought for medical treatment and attempts to revive her failed.
Her body has been shifted to the Goa Medical College and Hospital for a post mortem which will be conducted on Wednesday.
Police sources said the woman, accompanied by some 13-odd friends, was attending the EDM festival in Goa, when she collapsed at the venue at about 10pm. She was then rushed to the hospital in Calangute.The Calangute police have registered Mantry’s death as a case of unnatural death and are awaiting the autopsy report for further action.
Mantry’s parents arrived in Goa after receiving the news.
