Goa’s first privately built solar-electric hybrid catamaran, ‘MV LRAJ Green’, has earned national recognition by being selected for the prestigious Sagarmitra Coastal Impact Award.

Designed and built by mariners Larson D'Sa, Capt. Ruben Salvador Fernandes, Capt. Jerson Da Silva, and Alan Joe Fernandes, the vessel represents a significant milestone in sustainable maritime transport for the region.

The award will be conferred at the 75th commemorative ceremony of the Director General of Shipping, scheduled for September 4 in Mumbai. The recognition highlights the innovative efforts of private mariners in advancing eco-friendly shipping solutions along India’s coastline.

The achievement places Goa on the national map for sustainable maritime initiatives, showcasing the state’s growing focus on green technology and renewable energy in the transportation sector.
