A Herald TV investigation, conducted in collaboration with St Cruz Congress Block President John Nazareth and Joint Secretary Edwin Vaz, has uncovered a suspected case of voter fraud linked to House No. 404/7, owned by Shalan Hatange in Santa Cruz, Goa. As part of the ongoing “Vote Chori” (vote theft) probe, the team discovered that 26 non-Goan individuals were fraudulently registered at this address—15 of whom reportedly voted in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
The inquiry led the team to Bambombhat (or Bandh) in Santa Cruz, where they recorded exclusive footage supporting their findings. According to Herald TV, the case points to possible manipulation of the electoral roll in Goa, with Congress officials alleging it reflects a broader pattern of “vote chori” in the state. They claim non-residents are being added to the voter list using forged documents or false addresses.
Local Congress leaders have announced plans to file formal objections with the Election Commission of India, calling for the removal of dubious entries and strict action against those involved. This revelation forms part of a larger campaign in Goa to scrutinise voter rolls, with party representatives conducting field checks and engaging with communities to detect similar irregularities.
