MARGAO: Chairman of the NGO Green Goa Foundation (GGF), Raison Almeida, has lodged a complaint with the Superintendent of Police, South Goa, against Bala Nandeswar Rao and Shanti Bala for allegedly defrauding desperate job seekers of over Rs 10 crore through a fake overseas job consultancy.

According to the complaint, the accused operated under the name ‘Dream for Overseas Consulting Pvt. Ltd’. from an office at Classic Harmony, opposite Vishal Mart, Aquem, Margao. They allegedly lured job seekers with false promises of employment abroad in countries such as Malta, the USA, Canada, and Australia, charging significant fees transferred via NEFT into their accounts.

The victims were assured genuine documentation and assistance throughout the visa and migration process. However, investigations revealed that the accused fabricated experience certificates, industrial training documents, and sponsorship letters to facilitate illegal migration.

The complaint also highlighted a case where the US Embassy in Chennai flagged a fake document provided by Bala Nandeswar Rao, exposing the fraud. Following this, the directors reportedly closed their Margao office and fled the State, leaving victims desperate to recover their money.

GGF has demanded immediate action to trace the accused, recover the funds, and hold them accountable.
