In a bid to gain social media popularity, many influencers, tourists, and youngsters are increasingly engaging in risky behavior by entering dangerous zones around Goa’s dams, often creating a public nuisance and putting their lives in jeopardy.
Authorities have raised alarms over the trend, particularly at the Anjunem Dam in Sattari, which has become a hotspot for thrill-seekers looking to film videos and click photos in restricted areas.
Concerned by the growing safety hazards, the Water Resources Department (WRD) has requested police intervention to prevent unauthorized access and ensure public safety.
Officials said enforcement measures, including stricter patrolling and possible legal action against violators, are likely to be stepped up to deter such incidents.
