In a proactive step towards strengthening emergency preparedness, Konkan Railway successfully conducted a joint civil defence drill at Margao Station today, in collaboration with the North Eastern Railway and South Western Railway.

The mock drill, held from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, simulated multiple emergency scenarios to test and refine inter-departmental coordination and response strategies in the event of real-life crises. The exercise saw active participation from railway staff, civil defence teams, and local authorities.

Officials stated that the objective of the drill was to assess preparedness levels and ensure quick, coordinated responses during emergencies, including accidents, fire hazards, and medical contingencies.

“These drills are vital to maintaining and improving our safety protocols. They help identify gaps in coordination and improve our ability to act swiftly and efficiently in crisis situations,” a senior railway official said.

Konkan Railway reiterated its commitment to ensuring passenger safety and operational resilience, adding that similar exercises will be conducted at other key stations as part of its ongoing safety enhancement efforts.
