Leaders and community representatives have demanded that the government immediately lift the ban imposed on the Gomantak Gaud Maratha community and Uttta, which has effectively blocked the issuance of Scheduled Tribe (ST) caste certificates for many tribal families.
They warned that if the government fails to act, they will launch a large-scale awareness campaign ahead of the 2027 assembly elections, reaching out to voters in every village and ward across the state.
Community members stressed that the ban has caused severe hardship by denying people their rightful certificates and the associated benefits, and vowed to hold the ruling BJP accountable when it comes to seeking votes.
