Leader of Opposition Yuri Alemao has strongly criticized the BJP-led Goa government for scheduling a short 15-day monsoon session of the Goa Legislative Assembly, calling it a deliberate move to evade accountability and avoid facing critical questions from the opposition.

Alemao alleged that the government's decision reflects a larger pattern of undermining democratic institutions and failing to uphold transparency in governance. “This truncated session is nothing but an attempt to run away from real issues affecting the people of Goa,” he said.

He further accused the administration of misgovernance and said the opposition will use the limited time available to highlight the government’s shortcomings. “We are prepared to expose their failures on all fronts — be it infrastructure, unemployment, environment, or law and order,” Alemao added.

The monsoon session of the Goa Legislative Assembly is set to begin on July 21 and will continue until August 8, as summoned by Governor P.S. Sreedharan Pillai.
