In the lead-up to the annual Damodar Saptah festival, Mormugao Deputy Collector Bhagwant Karmali convened a coordination meeting with various government departments to review the preparedness for the upcoming event.
Karmali assured that adequate arrangements are being made to manage law and order, as well as to ensure smooth traffic movement during the week-long festivities. “All departments are working in close coordination to ensure the fair proceeds safely and smoothly,” he said.
Mormugao Municipal Council (MMC) Chief Officer Siddhivinayak Naik affirmed the municipality’s commitment to the event, stating, “The Municipality is an active stakeholder and will take full responsibility for the tasks allotted to it.”
Adding a new layer of precaution, Saptah Samiti Secretary Santosh Khorjuvekar announced that this year, for the first time, the Damodar Saptah festival will be insured, marking a significant step in ensuring safety and accountability.
