PANJIM: Rear Admiral Satish Shenai has been appointed as Chief Staff Officer (Training) of Southern Naval Command.
He assumed the charge on January 16, 2024.
Born in Morjim, Rear Admiral Satish Shenai is an INA alumnus. He joined the Indian Navy on July 1, 1993, and is a graduate of Army Higher Command Course between DSSC Wellington and Army War College.
The Flag Officer has held several appointments, both afloat and ashore.
As a specialist in Gunnery and Missile Warfare, he has served onboard INS Ranvijay, INS Mumbai and INS Delhi.
He has commanded INS Kirch, INS Trishul and INS Talwar and ashore units INS Dronacharya and INS India. His staff tenures include appointments at DFC NHQ, HQ WNC and 22KS, ENC and LWT(East) and Director, CELABS, Kochi. The Flag officer was awarded the VCNS commendation in 2009, the CNS commendation in 2011 and Nao Sena Medal in 2021.
Rear Admiral Satish Shenai completed his schooling at Viscount High School, Pernem, and his college education at St Xavier's College, Mapusa. He graduated from Defense Services Staff College, Wellington, and attended the Army Higher Command Course at Army War College, Mahu. He obtained his MSc from the University of Madras and M Phil from the University of Punjab.
