CURCHOREM: Governor P S Sreedharan Pillai, along with his wife Reetha Sreedharan, visited Guardian Angel Church, Curchorem on Saturday during his tour of Quepem taluka.
They were accorded a warm welcome by Parish Priest Fr Vital Miranda by offering bouquets. The parish priest later gave blessings to them in the presence of Assistant Parish Priest Fr Jovier Barretto, Bro Erwin Fernandes, Curchorem-Cacora Municipal Council Chairperson Dr Jasmine Braganza, Xeldem ZP Member Sidharth Gauns Dessai, councillors and Assolda panchayat members.
Earlier, after coming from Quepem the Governor visited Pir Dargah at Cacora, where he offered Galaf on Babulshaha Pir Aulia Dargah in the presence of Moulana and committee members. Later, he proceeded to Sanvordem, where he interacted with the panchayat members of Sanvordem, Kalay, Mollem, Dharbandora, Collem-Shigao, Sancordem and Kirlapal-Dabhal in the presence of Sanvordem MLA Ganesh Gaonkar and also disbursed financial assistance to six dialysis patients.
Addressing the panchayat members, the Governor said that the Constitution says people are supreme and therefore they are the boss and any people's elected representatives including constitutional heads and officials of the government are public servants and bound to serve the people, he said urging them to work to solve the grievances of the people.
