PANJIM: The State government has withdrawn the order related to employing operative staff in its various departments through the Goa Human Resources Development Corporation following allegations by the Opposition Congress.

The government though an Office Memorandum dated November 12, 2021, had stated that all vacancies such as Multi-Tasking Staff, Junior Office Assistant, Personal Assistant etc shall be routed through the Goa Human Resources Development Corporation (GHRDC), as peer the requirement within the sanctioned staff strength.

The government had decided to empanel the following categories of operative staff under the GHRDC for deployment to various government departments, autonomous bodies, private firms, individuals, etc on assignment basis. These categories were Multi-Tasking Staff (office boy, messenger and driver); Junior Office Assistant (LDC and data entry operator) and Personal Assistant (steno typist and secretary).

GPCC President Girish Chodankar on Sunday raised flag over the circular and alleged that routing of jobs in the government sector through the GHRDC was a clear indication that these jobs would be on temporary and contract basis.
