PORVORIM: The Goa Staff Selection Commission (GSSC) has granted its no objection for filling up over 7400 posts in various government departments, since the time it has started functioning in 2021, the Chief Minister Pramod Sawant told the State Legislative Assembly on Monday.
The three-member GSSC headed by IAS Puneet Kumar Goel was constituted in January 2019; however the recruitment process through it commenced post amendment to the Staff Selection Commission Act 2021, Sawant said in a reply to a two separate questions tabled by Leader of Opposition Yuri Alemao and BJP MLA Digambar Kamat.
Sawant said that by March 2024, 2572 vacancies are expected to be filled. While 638 government servants are set to retire this year, almost 527 are due for retirement in 2024.
