PANJIM: The Goa police detained 10 persons from Goa and one from Hyderabad for allegedly taking two Hyderabad natives hostage, following a dispute with the victims’ employer. The culprits had allegedly demanded around Rs three crore in ransom from the employer.
The hostage situation came to light after Hyderabad police informed Goa police on Saturday morning. As per North Goa SP Nidhin Valsan, the main accused in the case goes by the name Altaf Sayed from Fatorda and is allegedly involved with banned organisation PFI. He is also being investigated for the same.
The accused had held the victims hostage in a bungalow at Bambolim. The police detained Sunil Nayak, Nikhil Patel, Shafiulla , Jaffer Sheikh Hassan, Sagar, Nishant, Aslam Sayed, Saddiq Sheikh , Jose Aldrin -all residents of Goa, and Tukaram Dhondge from Hyderabad.
