PANJIM: Beware! The next time you jump a red signal your licence may be suspended for three months.
Goa Police has started a drive against red light jumpers, and these will be penalised with a fine and have their licenses suspended for at least three months.
“All motorists are advised to stop at red light on a traffic signal irrespective of the time of the day. Not doing so may cause serious accidents,” says a message from DGP Muktesh Chander.
He further says that so far 1315 motorists have already been prosecuted this year. “We request all to make Goan roads safe for every road user,” DGP said in the whatsapp message.
