Manohar International Airport reaches one million passengers milestone

Officials say the airport likely to commence international flight operations soon

PANJIM: In just 116 days since its inception and connecting to 25 destinations across India, Manohar International Airport has reached the milestone of one million passengers. 

The footfall has made Manohar International Airport amongst the top 20 airports in India as per the March 2023 domestic traffic data. Officials have hinted that the airport may soon begin international flight operations too. 

While speaking to mediapersons, an airport operations official said, “The good news will be out soon.” 

Dabolim is the only airport that currently handles international flights, 28 arrivals weekly. There are flights coming to Goa from Doha, Qatar, Sharjah, Oman, London and Dubai. 

Equipped to handle even the wide body Code D & E aircrafts, Manohar International Airport is currently catering to Code C aircrafts used by the domestic carriers.

The airport has expanded its reach by connecting 25 destinations in India, with three new cities added at the end of April 2023. These destinations include Amritsar, Bhubaneswar, Coimbatore, Guwahati, Ranchi, Rajkot, Visakhapatnam, Lucknow, Delhi, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Mumbai, Kolkata, Pune, Nashik, Jaipur, Chennai, Nagpur, Varanasi, Chandigarh, Patna, Baroda, Dehradun, and Cochin. Since its inauguration, the airport has received an overwhelming response from airlines and passengers.
