PANJIM: The officials of the Goa Forest Development Corporation and the Goa Tourism Development Corporation deliberated on regularising trekking at Dudhsagar Falls, which is currently closed due to monsoon.
GTDC chairman Ganesh Gaonkar and GFDC chairperson Deviya Rane were present.
“Convened a productive meeting in the presence of Ganesh Gaonkar, with officials from GFDC and GTDC. We deliberated on regularising trekking at Dudhsagar Falls, which is currently closed due to monsoon. The entry process for trekking will be streamlined through an online portal, and the guides on duty will receive specialised training to ensure safety of tourists,” Rane said.
“The GTDC will draw up a comprehensive proposal in this regard. Our agenda is to prioritise the safety of visitors while protecting the environment. To this end, we will frame standard operating procedures (SOPs) for guides as well,” said Rane.
