PANJIM: Urban Development Minister Vishwajit Rane on Wednesday said that instructions have been issued to all the municipalities to go online within 15 days.
Addressing a press conference after holding a meeting with Chief Officers of all the municipalities, he said that the Urban Development Department will move a proposal for regularising services of those employees who have completed seven years of service.
He said the issue of shortage of staff in the municipalities will be taken to the government and a solution will be found. Rane said state laws will be amended to make sure that contractors take up fumigation work at construction sites. The amendment will be introduced in the next assembly session and if required an ordinance can also be passed, he said.
Rane announced that Goa government will be the first to launch an Artificial Intelligence (AI) App for teleconsultation.
“You can upload your blood report for health professionals to examine. It will give you an overall preview of your health. The app will also be linked to the Women and Child Department. Efforts are being made to launch it within two months. We will make sure that people use it. It will be free of charge,” he said.
Rane said Intensive Care Units (ICUs) of both the district hospitals will be strengthened using telemedicine systems.
He said the government has dropped the proposal of having a private medical college and South Goa District Hospital and the proposal will be reworked later.
The minister said the senior citizens, who need help in their old age and have no one to take care of them, can now heave a sigh of relief as the Goa government is planning to develop an Assisted Living Community Centre at GMC.
He said instructions have been given to the Goa Medical College and Hospital (GMC) to have a molecular lab as soon as possible.
Rane also said that caretakers have been asked to register themselves with the GMC so that the hospital administration could have a track of those visiting the hospital.
