Goan-origin businessman in India power list

Vito Gomes, a Goan by origin, has featured in the Indian Power List 2010 released by ArabianBusiness.com featuring among the top hundred with reference to his expanding aviation business in the Middle East.
Gomes, who runs Aviation Services Management, is placed 78th in the list alongside other prominent businessman from the country of their origin – India. Headquartered in Dubai, ASM with its rich aviation experience specialises in all flight support services.
ArabianBusiness.com has voted the Goan-origin businessman as one of the leading lights of the region’s burgeoning aviation industry. It states Gomes as playing a vital role in one of the sector’s less famous, but no less crucial segments.
The web portal notes further since 2005 Gomes has devoted himself to setting up his own company – ASM. Just one year prior to his current venture, he set up Experts Commercial Agency, now better known as Maximus, it describes him further.
The portal observes, “His experience in the sector is serving him well. In the 1990s, Gomes took up the opportunity to set up and manage a cargo airline (GATS), as well as EMEX Aviation, which was based at Abu Dhabi International Airport. In total, the businessman possesses some 16 years of hands-on experience in the aviation industry.”
ASM’s Goa office is based at Caranzalem, a few kilometres away from the capital city. ASM also has an associated office in China and another office in Sharjah.
