Shyam Anchal, who fatally stabbed his former employee on August 28, has admitted killing Sidaram alias Siddesh Alure, Panjim police said on Sunday.
Inspector Sandesh Chodankar informed reporters that Shyam, 25, admitted killing Siddesh to seek revenge for loss of job as a manager at a Dona Paula guest house.
“He has been remanded to 14 day police custody for thorough interrogation. We are yet to discover the weapon of attack he used,” said the inspector.
Siddesh Alure, 24, a native of Maharashtra was found dead with his throat slit, in the said guest house where he worked as a room boy. The alleged accused had also attacked the victim’s newly wedded wife Rajeshree before escaping from the scene of offence.
The victim pair had come down to Goa after their marriage on May 16 and stayed in the basement of the guest house.
Panjim police earlier in June arrested Shyam for allegedly sending lewd text messages to an employee’s wife. He was subsequently sacked from his job. The alleged accused, according to police, believed that Alure was responsible for the loss of his job and hence decided to take revenge.
On Saturday, Shyam came to meet the couple at the guest house, which eventually led to an argument between the men. He first attacked Siddesh in the absence of Rajeshree and later herself, who raised an alarm for help.
Shyam was earlier booked for murder and robbery in 2004. He attacked and killed an Electricity Department employee at Old Goa Vithal Naik, 36, then. However, he was acquitted for want of evidence in a trial that lasted for three and half years.
