PONDA: Property worth Rs 7,000 was destroyed after a house caught fire at Usgao on Sunday.
According to Ponda fire officer Yashwant Gawas, they received a call at about 11.15 am stating that the house, belonging to J Fernandes, caught fire. The fire personnel along with fire tenders rushed to the site and doused off the fire.
Fire sources further informed that besides four refilled LPG cylinders, there were two empty cylinders at the site and the cause of fire was a regulator of one of cylinders caught fire.
Loss to property is pegged at about Rs 7,000.
and fire personnel claimed that the managed to save property worth Rs 2 lakh.
