Sesa Resources permitted to transport spillage cargo

The Directorate of Mines and Geology has granted permission to M/s Sesa Resources Limited to transport spillage cargo of around 140 metric tones of iron ore from Mormugao Port Trust to their Amona Jetty by barge.

PANJIM: The Directorate of Mines and Geology has granted permission to M/s Sesa Resources Limited to transport spillage cargo of around 140 metric tones of iron ore from Mormugao Port Trust to their Amona Jetty by barge. 

The mining firm through a letter dated December 24, 2012, had sought permission from the department to transport spillage cargo.  

The department has directed the company to stack the transported cargo separately and file a compliance report. “No violation of Supreme Court order dated October 5, 2012 should be done by the applicant,” the order states. 

All mining operations including transportation of iron ore has been currently halted in Goa following directions from Supreme Court.
