Calangute: The new Dolphin Circle fountain in front of the St Alex Church in Calangute was inaugurated by Union Minister of State for Tourism and North Goa MP Shripad Naik on Saturday.

“Calangute is a world famous tourist attraction and it is good to see the various development projects. We have been able to get a lot of Central government funding for development works in the Calangute constituency including Rs 36-cr for the coastal circuit road widening work and repairs of Fort Aguada which now has a museum,” Naik said.

Naik also highlighted various other projects that he has carried out in the state such as the superspecialty block at the GMC and other works referring to the coming Lok Sabha elections round the corner.

Calangute MLA Michael Lobo said “It is because of the funds sanctioned by Shripad Naik that we were able to develop the Candolim beach promenade, toilets and parking facilities in Calangute, Baga and Candolim and repair Fort Aguada which was in a dilapidated condition.”

The new Dolphin Circle has been developed through CSR by a prominent resort in Calangute, sarpanch Joseph Sequeira said.
