Feast of St Joseph Vaz on Jan 16
PANJIM: The feast of St Joseph Vaz at Sancoale will be celebrated on January 16 at the Sanctuary of St Joseph Vaz, Sancoale. Masses on the feast day will be held at 5 am, 6 am, 7 am and 8 am. The feast Mass will be celebrated at 10am. There will also be Mass in the Oratory at 12 noon. Evening Masses in the Sanctuary will be held at 4 pm and 5.30 pm. 
Cancer detection camp 
PANJIM: Goa Cancer Society in association with Manipal Hospitals Goa, Lions Club of Quepem, Curchorem and Sanguem, IMA Goa State, Gokarma Oncology Association and Curchorem-Kakoda Community Health Centre, plans to hold a cancer detection camp from 9 am to 12 pm on January 18 at Curchorem-Kakoda Community Health Centre for the first 100 patients who are 40 years and above and who have been identified as symptomatic patients. During the camp, expert consultants from the faculty of Surgical Oncology, Surgery, TB & Chest, ENT, Dentistry & Obstetrics and Gynaecology of Manipal Hospitals Goa and IMA Goa will be in attendance. 
Ambelim VP gram sabha 
PANJIM: Ambelim village panchayats will hold its gram sabha on January 18 at 9.30 am in the office of the VP hall. Members have been requested to forward their suggestions if any, in writing on or before January 14 at the VP office.
Inner healing retreat by Pilar Fathers
PANJIM: Pilar Fathers will conduct a residential ‘Inner Healing’ retreat in English at Pilar Animation Centre from January 17 (10 am) to January 18 (4.30 pm).
It includes praise and worship, inner healing service, testimonies, adoration and Holy Eucharist. There is no registration fee.
Techno-cultural exchange programme
PANJIM: A group of sixteen students and four faculty from the Electricity and Energy course at Tumba Gymnasium, Sweden, are presently in Goa for the second leg of the techno-cultural student-faculty exchange programme with the Electronics Engineering Department of Agnel Polytechnic, Verna. During the two weeks that the Swedish group is in Goa, they are experiencing the technical education system in Goa by attending classes and field visits to industries and also experiencing the culture facets of Goa. 
During the first leg of the project, a similar number of students and faculty from the Goan college visited Sweden for the same purpose in September 2014. The group from Goa was led by Principal Subhash Lotliker. Agnel Polytechnic, Verna, is the only technical college in Goa which had such an exchange project for its students for the second time. The project is being co-ordinated by Allan Da Costa, lecturer in the Electronics Engineering Department.
Anniversary of Seamen Assn Collem 
COLLEM: Seamen Association Collem recently celebrated its 4th anniversary by organising various programmes at Our Lady of Piety Church, Collem.
Fr Tadeo D’Souza was the chief guest for the programme. Tiatrist Tony Sax, Our Lady of Piety School Collem Headmaster Santosh D’Souza, Collem Seamen Association Chief Lawrence Gonsalves and Secretary Tony Costa were present.
On the occasion, retired teacher of Our Lady of Piety High School Collem Kistod Fernandes was felicitated by Tony Sax.
