PONDA: Following the rush and panic, to complete the Know Your Customer (KYC) process, gas agencies owners have urged the LPG consumers not to panic, as there is no set deadline to complete the KYC process. They assured that the process would continue after the deadline of December 31. A Bharat Gas agency representative said there is misunderstanding among consumers about the December 31 deadline. “Bhivpaachi garaj naa. All will get cylinders for their domestic consumption,” he said.
It may recalled, that for the past few days, locals of Ponda taluka were standing in serpentine queues outside gas agency outlets for completing KYC process, as they were informed to complete it by December 31. However many consumers learnt about Adhaar card linking from their agencies at the last moment and therefore started queuing up since the December 31 deadline was fast approaching.
Sahdey Shetye, office in-charge of The Goa State Co-operative Marketing and Supply Federation and runs the agency outlet of Bharat Gas at Ponda, urged the consumers standing in serpentine queues not to panic and worry in completing the KYC process before deadline December 31. He said there is no such deadline. There is misunderstanding among public. He said that the KYC process would continue even in the New Year and the consumers can complete the process later.
Shetye said, the customers of Bharat Gas agencies can do KYC even through online app ‘Hello BPCL’. There is no need to queue up and rush. He said there are around 16000 consumers with the Marketing Federation. All will get their refilled cylinders even if KYC is not done by December 31. The KYC process will process continue till all gas consumers submit their documents.
It is learnt that Adhar Card link is must for KYC process. It is for all consumers in Goa and not for those from Ponda. There is no rush in other parts of Goa for KYC, the official said.
