PANJIM: Revolutionary Goans (RG) comes out in support of Fr Bolmax Pereira on Wednesday and they condemned the manner in which the priest had been intimidated recently.
Criticising the personal assistant of a minister for abusing the Chicalim-based priest, RG chief Manoj Parab said these type of incidents may happen outside Goa but do not happen in Goa and that they don’t want such incidents to be repeated.
“This act has disturbed the religious harmony in Goa. Any Indian citizen has a right to stand up against what is wrong. Irrespective which religion he or she belongs, or even if it’s a religious figure. Being citizens of India, we have a right to voice out. We strongly condemn this act and do not want such acts to continue in Goa. RG will support every Goan who will stand up for their rights and save Goa”, said Parab.
“Goa is always known for its hospitality and religious harmony. All these years’ political parties have played a religious card in Goa. They created a fear factor within communities. The main culprit of this divide and rule is by the BJP party,” he added.
